Brad,
There's a parking garage attached to Navy Pier. I've parked in there a few times. If you're going to drive to Navy Pier, it's the best place to park. You can walk right into Navy Pier from the parking garage. Two neat things to do there are renting the multi-person bicycles to tour the lakefront and taking one of the boat rides. The ride I've enjoyed most is the speedboat ride. The boat gets to 70 MPH and had about 50 people on it.
If you are going to the Sox games against Tampa, they probably won't be very crowded. If you haven't bought tickets yet, try to find lower priced tickets on the 100 level. If your tickets are not on the 100 level, you won't be able to access that level, which includes the main concourse. A food dish I'd recommend at the Cell is the sliced corn. They sell it at individual kiosks on the 100 level. There is one located between home and first and another located between home and third. They have green and while umbrellas at the stands and it says ELOTES on the umbrella.
Wrigley will open at 5:05 on Thursday night. There should be a really big crowd with it being the first game of the big series with the Giants. Leave time after the game to get on the Red Line. I don't like to leave early and I'm guessing you wouldn't want to either. To kill time after the game, the ushers will let you get down close to the field to take pictures, Many of them will even take the picture for you if you want your group to stand by the wall for pictures with the field or scoreboard behind you. Roam the ballpark after the game to let the lines go down at the Addison Red Line station.
Let me know if you have any other questions. Enjoy your trip.
Fred
You bet. Enjoy your trip. I'll be in the bleachers at Wrigley on Thursday night.
