Hi Everyone,
I am going to be surprising my boyfriend with a trip to Baltimore to see his Jays play the Orioles (June 17-19 2016). It will be a bit ambitious to do a weekend trip as we are coming from Ottawa, Canada (about 8-9 hour drive).
Few questions as I have never been to Baltimore before.
- What are the general ticket prices like for a lower bowl seat- somewhere between 3rd base and 1st base? Are they generally really expensive?
- Does anyone know when single tickets will go on sale?
- Are there any "budget friendly" hotels around? The one on the chaser guide is $200 a night and with the terrible Canadian dollar this just isn't feasible. "Budget friendly" defined as $100-$130/night ish.
- What other activities do you recommend doing other than a ballpark tour? Any sights to see sports related or non sports related?
If you ever need advice about Rogers Centre, I am always willing to help!

I don't think the Orioles have released their ticket prices for 2016 or announced when they go on sale. I would check Orioles.com/Tickets to see when they announce prices.
According to http://www.statista.com/ the average Orioles ticket is $24.97 which is lower than the MLB average.
As for the Hotels I'm not familiar with the budget hotels in area. I've stayed at the Holiday Inn. I would suggest staying around the inner-harbour area. I've stayed at the Holiday Inn and it was safe & easy to walk to the ballpark.
Hi! To save money when I went to Baltimore I stayed just outside at the Hyatt Place Baltimore/BWI Airport hotel. It was decently priced and just a short drive, but then parking in the city was expensive. I would actually recommend staying in the city if possible because the cost may even out, and there is a lot to do in walking distance. You already mentioned the ballpark tour which I would definitely recommend because Camden Yards is beautiful. The Babe Ruth Birthplace and Sports Legends Museum is walkable from the stadium and definitely a cool place to see with a low entrance fee. I would also recommend visiting the Baltimore aquarium if that interests you.
Thanks for pointing this out, Cori. I will see that the Chaser Budget hotels are updated as $200 is too expensive for that category.
If only it was our birthday in June! My birthday is August and Chris' is October. Thanks for the tip though! That sounds like a great time!
Hey Cori! We updated our Chaser Guide to include three new "Chaser Budget" hotels that list under $130 per night on the dates of your travel. Check them out here!
Awesome thank you Craig! I actually found one - Envy Hotel Baltimore Inner Harbor for $92.65 USD/night (taxes in) in case you wanted to add it to the list :) Its very close to the stadium, walking distance, which is always a bonus. Here's the street address if you want it 22 E Fayette St, Baltimore, MD 21202, United States. I found it through Booking.com
Great find! Please let me know what you think of the hotel after your stay. We try to only include hotels/motels that have a ranking of 3.5 or higher using TripAdvisor.
