I'm thinking of heading to Atlanta for labor day weekend to catch a game at Turner Field. Any suggestions for hotels in the area, particularly something kid friendly (i.e. a pool is a must!) I'll have a car, so not worried about public transportation to the game.

If you do decide to come to Atlanta Labor Day weekend, be ready for heavy traffic and big crowds. Lots of festivals and activities are lined up and Labor Day is one of the worst traffic weekends of the year here in the ATL.
Here are some of the events bringing people to the area
1. NASCAR weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway. If you are interested in catching a race and a game - then this is the weekend for you. AMS is a very fast track and a usually a very good race. I have been to two NASCAR events there.
2. DragonCon is a huge science fiction fan event in downtown Atlanta. If you are interested in that sort of thing, there is a family friendly parade on Saturday, but adult oriented activities in the evenings.
3. Black Pride weekend will have a big gay turnout throughout downtown as well.
These events will make attending other downtown attractions (like GA Aquarium and the brand new College Football Hall of Fame) a nightmare.
My advise is check what is going on in town and if there is something in addition to baseball you want to see come on and have a great time. If you really are only interested in baseball and attractions that are always here, then I would recommend another weekend.
I realize your personal schedule also drives decisions as well. Just my 2 cents after living here for 4 years.
Check Hotel Indigo Atlanta Airport - College Park
1776 Harvard Avenue College Park, Georgia 30337
It's one or two MARTA stops from Five Points where you can catch a bus to the stadium and it is close to the airport.
Not sure about kid friendly but here's the link: http://www.ihg.com/hotelindigo/hotels/us/en/college-park/atlww/hote...
I'll be in Atlanta tomorrow night
Went to Turner Field today for my 5th Braves game of the season. I wasn't happy about seeing my Braves lose, but I did see my first no hitter. I guess that's something.
Those were my Phillies! I was originally going to go to this game, but then I would've had to go to Miami Tuesday. Doh!
