Trips planned for this year include Boston which I haven't been to for over 33 years (I'm sure some changes have taken place over this time) and San Francisco. AT&T park will be my 36th park, 19th present. I will be flying in on May 8th for the day game against the Phillies. What is the best route from the airport to the ballpark, and back to the airport. I've seen the Chasers recommendations but do you all have any others ones for the general area of the ballpark?

The BART is what you'll want to take from the air port to the downtown area of AT&T ballpark. Be sure to grab a seat or hang on because it moves really fast! I don't remember exact stop names, but there are maps all around the BART for you to figure out what stop is the closest for AT&T or your hotel. And I think they even have a website for you to check it out before hand. Have you been to AT&T before? We sat first base side, the highest level towards the bay and our view was great. We could see the game, see the kayakers in the bay with their sign and could see into the Giants dugout, I think it was section 304, if that view interests you. We were in the San Fran area for 3 days, took the BART to Oakland for a game and pretty much everywhere we went, there were maps and a BART or trolley for you make your way. I found the city to be one of the easiest we have ever traveled within. Have fun! :)
I agree with Lisa about where to sit in the park. Awesome stadium.
I would try to have time to walk around on the Embarcadero before the game and enjoy it if you can. Lots of bars / restaurants around there.
Thanx for the replies! Sounds like the BART is the way to go. I have my seat in section 216 first row!! Although I will be all around the park as soon as the gates open.
Enjoy it. Its a great stadium.
Hi, AT&T is my home park and yes the best transportation from the airport is the BART, you can take it to embarcadero and catch the Muni T light rail train, it is underground and then comes above ground right after the embarcadero stop. It is also walking distance from the BART station to the park, it is a good hike but on a beautiful day here it is very pleasant.
By the way 216 great section. You are in the club level, best food and drink on that level. Make sure you do walk all around the park and go up to the upper level for some great views. Be prepared for sticker shock on prices of concessions. You can bring in any outside food that you want, you can bring in sealed water and soda bottles.
