May 2, 2002, I did an afternoon game in Milwaukee and then the nightcap in Chicago... not Wrigley, but Comiskey... and had no problems at all. The game in Milwaukee even went into the 10th before it ended. It can be done and it should be easier for you since your going to the North side of town. I would suggest, if you so choose, to park at a MTA lot up north and ride the EL in and back out... depending on what your plans are after the game (since you would have to ride back out).

I have done this trip 3 different times. First off--you are lucky that it is a sunday night--you have a great chance to see most of both games. If you are driving it really should not be a problem at all. The drive is about 2 hours normally-3 in traffic-however you are on the weekend so I would not think it would take a great deal more than 2 hours to drive from Milwaukee to Chicago. An idea to save time would be to park at the AMTRAK STATION downtown and take a cab to and from Miller Park--the toughest thing about Miller Park is getting out of Miller Park onto the 94 back towards Chicago. if you left the Milwaukee game a tad early you will have no problem. Another option is to travel with Amtrak to and from Chicago union station. There is a train that leaves Chicago at 10:20am and arrives at the downtown AMTRAK station at 11:49 which puts you 3 miles from Miller Park and a cheap cab ride. Assuming you want to watch the CUBS 1ST pitch-this option will not work for you. However if you don't mind missing an inning at WRIGLEY, there is a returning train that leaves Milwaukee Downtown at 5:25 pm and arrives at UNION STATION at 7:14---where you will be a 15 minute RED LINE HOWARD sub train trip away from WRIGLEY FIELD--the addison stop arrives a one minute walk away.
Again driving would be ideal--just don't try and find parking too cheap in Chicago, it is better to make it for first pitch. To make it to WRIGLEY on time you will want to be on the 94 EAST by 4:30.

the ticket to and from milwaukee round trip is only $44.00 as well

We did this trip in 2006, except it was the opposite....Chicago and then on to Milwaukee. As earlier posts said, this should not be as difficult on a Sunday night. I hate leaving games early, but if you can beat stadium traffic out of Milwaukee, you are far better off, especially with Cards and Cubs being the second game! Anything you can do to get back to Chicago earlier and avoid driving to Wrigley would be strongly suggested. Parking is expensive and traffic after games around Wrigley is a nightmare. Get back in time to get your car where you are staying, and take the subway or a cab (better in your case, given tight time) over to Wrigley. As Chuck said, no way I would wait past 4:30 to get out of Milwaukee.

Thanks everybody for the advice. I went with it and went for the same day Miller Park/Wrigley Field "daily double". I went to the 1:10 pm Brewers game at Miller Park. I left the game at the top of the ninth inning at 4:30 p.m., jumped in my car and headed to Chicago. I previously lived in Chicago so I knew how to get to Wrigley by little used roads once I hit the city. I pulled into their Irving Park parking lot at 6:40 p.m., in time for the "Cubbie" game.

I pre-bought my parking passes for the two stadiums to try to simplify things. I parked in the Rollie Fingers lot at Miller Park and found that getting in and out of the parking lot and off and on the highway was quick and simple. Getting in and out of the Wrigleyville area was more difficult but being familiar with the area made it easier for me.
