Looking to see if anyone has had any experience taking the Metro Bus/Rail in Houston? I'm staying at a Holiday Inn in the Reliant Park area and will be attending 2 night games. Hotel is about 9 miles away from Minute Maid Park. Flying in from NY and don't plan on renting a car. Wanting to use public transportation. Second half of the trip, I was able to book a room in Arlington, TX close enough Globe Life Park so I'll be able to walk. Thanks.

Haven't used houston public transportation. It appears that the metrorail does go to and from your hotel- or at least walking distance.
Interested to hear how you did because I'm going to Dallas and Houston next month. Right now I'm not renting a car in Arlington and staying close to the ballpark. Of course I have a problem that my flight to Houston is on Southwest. So i have to get from Arlington to Love Field.
In Houston I have a car reserved. I didn't see any other way.
I flew from NY to Houston/Hobby on Southwest then used the Metro Rail ($1.25) and walked to/from Minute Maid Park. No issues while on Metro Rail. My ride was about 30 minutes so stops were made in different neighborhoods of Houston. Flew Southwest from Houston/Hobby to Love Field. I ended using the supper shuttle to get from Love Field to my hotel in Arlington ($30). Once in Arlington, my hotel was on the trolley route (free) which got me to/from Globe Life Park. I walked one day to the ballpark but my hotel and the ballpark was separated by Interstate 30 so I ended up walking on the side of Ballpark Way (a 4 line highway) which goes over Interstate 30. Not advisable. After checking out, I used the super shuttle to get from my hotel to Dallas-Forth Worth Airport ($20). If at all possible, I prefer to walk, use public transportation, super shuttles. Hope this helps.
Thank you. I've gone on the websites for Hobby Airport, the Astros, and Metro Rail and I don't see how you can take Metro Rail from Hobby to the ballpark. Metro Rail doesn't appear to go to Hobby. Google Maps and ridemetro.org indicate I should take the #50 bus. Maybe that's better than a car?
Sorry I wasn't clear. All the transportation I've used from the airport has been super shuttles. The Metrorail, I used from my hotel to the ballpark.
No hotel. Fly in from Dallas in the AM and out to Los Angeles after the game. I'm going to take the #50 bus.
