Thanks Jeff, we are doing the back and forth, I plan to park at whatever hotel we book and take transit or cab to games. Now I just need to find hotels that work out best.

I did this trip last year. We stayed in Chicago basically between us cellular and wrigley. We took the train into both stadiums, and back to the hotel. Then we took Amtrak to miller park. As far as seats go we bought the cheap seats at us cellular thinking would would be able to move to better ones but that wasn't the case until around the 8th inning. We had normal seats at wrigley, personally I would of went for bleachers if I went again. Miller park was awesome. We sat behind the plate row 3 for around $100. Amazing seats. Milwaukee was also a pretty cool city. Lots of fun bars to check out and everything is very affordable. Chicago has awesome places around the wrigley area. U.S. Cellular isn't much. There is a patio area that also serves as a bar that opens before the game, that was neat but I wouldn't venture far from the stadium.

We will likely stay in 3 different hotels for the 3 nights since Milwaukee the middle game. Cubs aren't home til the Thursday night so it was only choice. I have our seats for Wrigley and Milwaukee. Still need US Cellular. And still need to book my hotels. We will be driving down on the Tuesday for US Cellular game that night. Our drive about 7-8 hrs. I'm hoping to find a hotel somewhat convenient and take red line or cab to game. Then checkout and drive to Milwaukee to spend afternoon there before game that night and hotel convenient to there for after game. I've heard Milwaukee a great spot before games and after. I just went to those three stadiums a couple weeks ago except I did US Cellular, Wrigley, then Miller Park. I stayed at the Whitehall Hotel in Chicago which was just a couple blocks from the red line to get to either US Cellular or Wrigley. It was just a random choice because they had a good deal but it worked out well and the hotel was nice and wasn't too pricey. I would definitely recommend having a day for Miller Park. I was really surprised how much I liked it and wish I had gotten there early enough to take the tour. Lots of tailgaters, just a fun atmosphere.

For tickets I use ticketzoom.com, way better prices, especially closer to the date of the game. For a hotel in Chicago, did you check Club Quarters?

Just completed US Cellular and Wrigley. Nothing really to see Around Cellular field. Wrigley is all sports bars and shops. Red line train will take you to both stadiums (in opposite directions) workers by train ticket machines were very helpful. I stayed at the Whithall hotel - reasonably priced for Chicago and great location. I would stay their again but building is old, and all the things that go with that.
Seats at Wrigley - I was in section 226 - row 6&8 which were great. Stay on first base side for Cellular field as well unless you want to sit in the sun

Let me know if you come up with any questions as the games get closer. I've been too 100's of Cubs games and have made the Chicago to Milwaukee trip many times.

Two food spots for you...Leon's Frozen Custard at 27th and Oklahoma in Milwaukee has incredible frozen custard and sets you back to the 40's and 50's.

Taylor Street in Little Italy, not a far ride from The Cell, has both Al's Beef and Mario's Italian Lemonade and they're across the street from each other.

One key Wrigley tip,,,you want your seats to have unobstructed views of the video boards. Too high up in the lower deck is a problem. I've been to many games there this year, so let me know of any questions.

Hi Fred, any tips are greatly appreciated. I'm wondering for the Tuesday night game at US Cellular, how long am I looking at for the drive within Chicago coming from Detroit way? To our hotel in the Gold Coast area and then catching Red Line to the park? I am driving all day and don't want to be late for the game.

You should plan on five hours in the car. Remember there will be a time change, too. Detroit is Eastern Time and Chicago is Central Time. I would also aim for being at your hotel by 2pm. Aim any later and traffic is likely to be an issue. They should let you check in at 3, maybe even a little early if you are already there. The Red Line will take you straight to the park. You want to get to 35th Street on the Red Line and your hotel staff should be able to point you to the Red Line. Let me know of any questions.

Thanks Fred, we are actually 7-8 hours away from Chicago. I hate early mornings so we are leaving today and staying in Portage tonight. Plan to check out Navy Pier tomorrow before checking in, is it worth it? Any cost saving tips regarding parking or anything?
