I went to Brooklyn in May 2012 and made the trek to the site of the old Ebbot's Field. This plaque is all that is there to state the importance of that hallowed ground. The site is now the Ebbot's Field Apartments. It is part of "the Projects". Also, part of the outfield is now the site of the Jackie Robinson Public School.
It is a shame they didn't at least keep the original facade. I was told by a security guard at the school that the home plate from Ebbots Field was still there, inside the building. But being alone, and holding onto my camera and wallet, I thought better of going inside! I looked too much like a tourist!!!
