Here are some ballpark chaser trips to consider when going on a lengthy trip.
CAR RENTALS:
The best way to ensure that you have money left available on your credit card, (keeping in mind that most rental places take a $200 minimum deposit), is to bid on your car through
www.priceline .com. There is a feature where you can bid on your car rental for specific airport locations called ‘BID NOW.” You can offer a price that you have to pay immediately but…

I'm a little bummed as I had hoped to get to Washington today to meet up with Bob but I just couldn't get it all worked out afterall. I have so much that has to be done for a deadline and just can't get away. But my heart is there today. (2 1/2 hours 'til game time and I'm tempted to get in the car and go anyway! I'd just look for a Cubs jersey and probably find him. I'm sure it won't be that crowded as there is rain forecast.) For Bob's sake, let's hope the game is played today. Sorry I'm…

While I am not going on any record chase this year, I feel happy to start off the year by going to a game at DODGER STADIUM last weekend (May.24). I was surprised when I arrived at game time that traffic actually wasn't bad and that the day was cold . I was also sad to hear that JOSE LIMA had passed--he was one of my favorite people in baseball to listen to. I heard him interviewed on JIM ROME's show many times before and it was always awesome---it was always 'LIMA TIME---BELIEVE IT!!!" It was…

I saw games in the Vet, 3 Rivers, River Front and St Louis in the 70,s 80,s, except for the arches in S.L. they where almost indistinguishable. Multi-purpose, they where better for football than baseball, the Vet carpet was the worst, took 3 years off Mike Schmidt,s career.
Also saw games in the old Yankee stadium and Shibe Park in Philly, now those where parks.
There was something about the smell of the old parks, beer, peanuts, cigars "old", they smelled old, it was great !…

In the past twelve months, I have been/will be in attendance for:
-Mark Buerhle's perfect game
-Jason Heyward's debut
-Tommy Hanson's debut
-Steven Strasburg's debut
I've only been to approximately 15 games over that time span. Some luck, eh? Here's to more of the same!

I had a great time during the weekend as we made our way to Toronto. It took us close to 12 hours to get there, when you include a stop in Niagara Falls. By the way, that place is amazing and Ashley and I had a great time there. Toronto is an amazing city and after spending a night there, i was ready to pack my bags and move there. The city is so clean and beautiful with tons of tall buildings and the people are really nice, i guess Canadians like to live up to their friendly…

It's difficult to explain how a new stadium that cost $1,500,000,000 could still have obstructed view seating.
It was only discovered after the fact that the new Yankee Stadium has a major design flaw. The Mohegan Sun Sports Bar that takes up the batter's eye in center field is a rectangular building placed smack in the outfield bleachers. As a result, people sitting in the wrong parts of Sections 201 and 239 may have of a portion of the field blocked from view by a bar for people…

Hey Chasers - hope everyone is enjoying the season to date. I have now been to 9 ballparks this summer on my way to all 30. This weekend is Comerica on Saturday, Rogers Centre on Sunday and PNC on Monday. If anyone will be at those games please shoot me a message and we can meet for a beer or 3.
I also would like to thank our fearless leader Craig and fellow Ballpark Chaser Dutch for their most generous donations to Shawn Marie's Memorial Fund. It is truly great the support that all…

I was really excited to read this article about Ken Burns making another documentary about baseball. The article says he is making a 4-hour special on PBS about the last 16 years in Major League Baseball. I am really looking forward to this. Anyone else see "Baseball"?

Has anyone ever been to the College WS in Omaha? I was hoping to go check it out sometime in the future, just to say that I've been there/ done that. Just wondering if it's worth it based on any past experiences. If and when I go, I will have to make sure that my alma mater, LB State, is in it. That way I will have someone to really cheer for.

I have been to all the current ballparks except Target Field and Chase Field. Next Friday May 21st I will be attending the Baltimore Orioles @ Washington Nationals game. I know the Nats are playing well but the ticket prices were more than I would have expected for a team that has been worst in baseball the past two seasons. I got 4 tix in the lower UD between 3rd and LF for a reasonable $25/ticket. This will be my second trip to Nationals Park. I attended a game there back in 2008 when it…

Hi I'm Sharon from South Central PA. I live in Phillies country but am a Mets fan. I never lived in NY. I guess I like the Mets because my Dad was rooting for the "underdog" in the 1969 World Series. I was 8. I don't remember much about baseball before that. So Dad and I shared that experience and then we sent for yearbooks and such. It was fun pouring over them and collecting baseball cards. I probably had an early Nolan Ryan card! I loved a bumper sticker I saw a few years ago. It said "I…

My first visit to City Field was very fun. My girlfriend and I decided to take the bus there and back on the same day and that worked out great. We got to New York with enough time to grab some food and head to the park and it was pretty easy to get to the stadium by train.
Johan Santana was pitching for the Mets so I was really looking forward to this game. I had been to Shea Stadium before but this was my first time seeing the new stadium. I really like it, it reminded of Camden…

The Quest to get to all 30 ballparks this season has gotten off to a great start. First on the schedule was opening night at Fenway Park followed the next afternoon at Turner Field where I saw my beloved Cubs get smacked around by the Braves in the season opener for both teams.
I have also been to the Trop, Progressive Field and Citizen's Bank Park where Travis and Joey (the 30 ballpark 30 days guys) joined me at the the Marlins - Phillies game. It was great hanging out with them and…
