Biking for Baseball sees all 30 stadiums in 2012 by BICYCLE

Starting opening day of 2012 in Seattle, the Biking for Baseball team started a journey across America. Our 4-member team is cycling to each and every Major League Ballpark during the 2012 season attending at least one game (and hopefully 2!) to root on the home team.

But that's only the beginning. At each major city stop along the way, we host …

Chase Field in Arizona

Hello all, was in Arizona this past week and saw a game at Chase field. My 27th MLB stadium, only 3 to go. I caught my first ever foul ball. It was very exciting. The park was nice and also the Arizona scenery was great.

I'm going to San Franciso and Oakland August 1 and 2... after that, will only have to see Miami.

Will keep you…

My SeeAll30 Summer... in jeopardy?!?

Was talking to my boss yesterday and he now says that he would prefer to send me to work in New Mexico in December instead of August.  This would completely screw me for my SeeAll30 Summer.  After getting pissy about this for a while, my wife tells me, "You should still go". I asked her, "What?" "You need to complete this, you are so close.  Just go", she says.  ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?!  Man I love this woman!  After trying to work out the schedule to go sooner (so I would have more…

Kansas City - Drury Inns and Suites

I recently stayed aat the Drury Inns and Suites at Kauffman Stadium. Safe, fifteen minute walk to the turnstiles. The rate was very reasonable ($85.00, total) and included a decent, hot breakfast, plus an inclusive evening event with basic bar food stuff, plus beer, wine, and some basic liquor. The facility was just renovated and the staff was very friendly and hospitable. Great deal!

Chasers

It was about a year ago when I found ballparkchasers.com.  I was sitting in Afghanistan and I had decided that I wanted to not just talk about a dream but be able to come home to the United States and fullfill one.  I did a simple google search and found this community.  It has simply been the most important connection of my entire trip.  Tonight was the most fullfilling experience I've had thus far.

I attended a game at Safeco Field in Seattle.  Through this website I met…

Update

Ok, it's been a long time.   Last year I completed my visits to all 30 current parks.  And then what happens, a new park opens in Miami.  Well, will be visiting Marlins Park on May 25.  So barring any new digs, (Come on Tampa you are due) I will have completed my list

Hi all

So here I am pushing 70, and I finally found something my teen-aged son actually wants to do with me--chase ball parks. We did our two local parks (SF Bay Area) when he was younger, then started doing trips. 2010 was San Diego-Anaheim-LA, then 2011 was SF to Chicago White Sox to Dallas to St. Louis to Philadelphia to Washington to Atlanta to Tampa Bay to Miami back to SF, 8 parks in 12 days. This year we're just now buying tickets, but it looks like SF to Denver to Milwaukee to Baltimore to…

Chasing outside of North America

I've been thinking about chasing ballparks around the world lately. My reasoning behind this is we'll be moving out of the country in Summer 2013 and I still want to see baseball at least somewhere. So my question is this, "does seeing baseball stadiums outside of North America count towards the total?"

Your thoughts?

The Great Baseball Race Blog

Hello Chasers,

As baseball fans all across the country, I wanted to share with you a personal project I'm working on this season, aside from hitting a few ballparks of course.

I call it the "Great Baseball Race" and with it, I track the ups and downs of the divisional races as a simple line graph. You can see the hot and cold streaks through the weeks and how far back 5.5 games really is.

I update it every Monday and would love for yall to check it out…

Today is number 30

Hello fellow chasers!

Hard to believe, but after 614 days, 30,700 miles on 9 trips, we visit Houston today and can say we have hit all the current MLB parks. What an adventure it has been for my Son and I. We have learned so much about how to "get Eric done"!

Our adventure started on July 10, 2010 with a simple text picture. I happened to be in Chicago and instead of sitting in the hotel room, I bought a cheap seat to a White Sox game. I sent Christopher an mms pic. He… Continue

WSJ Article May 3 2012 DC Baseball

Check out today's Wall Street Journal front page piece on DC Nationals restricting ticket sales to DC, Md and Va zips only. Team COO wants an all National fanbase in the ballpark. The funny thing is, the crowd is typically all decked out in red, so you can't tell if its Natl or Philly fans. And the Nats' CFO can't distinguish Nats vs Philly greenbacks in the coffers. Oh! And by the way, Philly Sports Fans are probably the best travelling fan base in the country. Too many work arounds for…

New to the site

Hey everybody, just joined this site today after following on facebook for a long time.  I think it's great that we have this forum to share.  I did the 30 ballpark road trip in 2007 and have kept up with all of the new parks since then, I'll be getting to Miami in June.  I've also been to a bunch of minor league, independent, college summer, NCAA parks and my next park will be my 100th!  My absolute favorite league in the world is the Northwoods League, and if anybody out there has not yet…

1st ballpark road trip

After many years of talk, we have our 1st trip being planned. June 21-24 driving from the great city of Detroit to DC, Baltimore, Philly, then Pittsburg. There will be 4 of us and it's the 1st time for all at all of these parks. We all are pretty stoked so everything is pretty much planned to the minutes(no really! one of our guys actually made a spread sheet and emailed it to all of us) but if any of you have any must places to eat/stay/see, feel free to throw it out there. Also any… Continue

Greenevile Astros

For those people who are chasing minor league ballparks I wanted to pass along this tiny bit of info. If you have the Greeneville Astros in your plans there is a decent size museum of baseball history inside the club's headquarters. You really have to find it or you can ask once you get into the stadium. It is well worth your time to look at it. The stadium is on the campus of Tusculum College and is one of the new stadiums in the Appy League. Here's a link to the team:… Continue

One down, 29 to go

My brother Nick passed away suddenly last March.  He wanted to visit all 30 ballparks (among other things), so I'm taking up the mantle for him.

Nick should have turned 30 April 19.  To kick off my own attempt (I'm starting "clean" and not counting any previous games), I organized a birthday party for Nick for family & friends back home at PNC Park yesterday, April 22.  We sold 116 tickets!  And we decided to use the event to raise awareness of the importance of blood…

Promotions!

As a fellow chaser I want to see all 30 parks! Because this is the 100th year anniversary of Fenway, I figured they would have awesome giveaways! But to my surprise they basically have none? Unless I have seen the wrong list? My favorite team Cincinnati, has numerous Bobblehead giveaway, a fleece blanket, garden gnome, garden flag, firework night, etc. I did not see any of this for the Boston red sox. Someone please help/correct me if i am wrong!
