NYM Welcome Back Veterans

I was recently contacted by a member of the Wounded Warrior Project who was contacted by the New York Mets and www.welcomebackveterans.org on my behalf.  This is a pretty amazing program.  During every game of the 2012 season the New York Mets will honor one veteran at the end of the third inning.  The veteran will appear on the Jumbo Tron and be thanked for his or her service.  They will be sitting in the first row behind the…

Will you be at any of these games?

I've been working on the details of this trip.  I know where I'm going to be when and how long it is going to take to get to each park.  What I am still working on is where I'm going to stay when.  If you know any good places to stay in any of these cities or anywhere between them send me an email at Baseballdreamin45@yahoo.com.  Here is where I will be on game day and the finer details of the trip.  If you would like to come along or meet me…

Oakland Ballpark Situation

I recently asked a buddy in Oakland when the A's were going to build a new ballpark.  Here is his take on the situation:

"Unfortunately, for years the City handled the whole issue very badly.  There was an opportunity to build a new park downtown – and then on the water – but both plans fizzled.  The fiscal situations of both Oakland & the county are now terrible, so no public money will be available for who know how long.  San Jose would like to build a park (they are…

Changing to Denver this year

Alright.... The airlines wanted me to surrender my only child to fly into Seattle, so we opted for Denver instead this year.  Flight and hotel is booked.  I just need some advice on how to handle the ticket and the subsequent drinking when we get there.  I have noticed that the tickets are pricey on the Rockies website, yet somewhat reasonable through StubHub.  Any suggestions?

Calling out all Park Experts

Hello Chasers,

As part of my World Record Pursuit, I am interviewing 30 baseball experts for the 30 MLB parks.  Your bio (plus 6 or 8 pictures_ will be prominently displayed on a feature article the same day I will be visiting the park.  A lot of it will be about the park and sights of the given.  I will be focusing a lot on traditions,  the fans, the team itself and their relevance to the city.  Nothing big.  The first couple of questions will introduce your bio.  The whole…

BALLPARK EATS...THE HOT DOG

Hello all !!!  It has been a long time since I have posted about anything here.  I hope you've all had a good new year.  I certainly can't wait for the baseball season to start.  And we all know that the official countdown to spring training starts immediatly after the Super Bowl.  As for the Super Bowl, it can't end soon enough for me especially with my 49ERS narrowly missing it this year.

Anyways, I hope you fellow ballpark travelers have your plans set for this summer. …

No. 54 on Opening Day

I am planning on making it down to Miami with my two sons for Opening Day, our tenth in a row together, which will be my 54th major league ballpark, including all of the current ones and 24 that are no longer in existence or being used.  Can't wait!

...'til San Jose

Arrangements made for San Diego, Atlanta and Miami in 2012.  All I need is the game tickets.  That will complete me (until the A's get a new ballpark.....)

Easiest Way To See All 30 MLB Ballparks.

Attending a major league baseball game is not cheap. When it comes to tickets, gas, parking, food, souveniers; you're often out at least $100.

So are these guys that attend games at all 30 ballparks rich? Not always. Traveling feats are accumulated over time just like anything else. If you live in the Northeast, nearly half of the league's ballparks are within a few hours driving distance.

The easiest way to tackle all 30 is to hit them simultaneously while you are in that…

30 Ballparks in 30 Days

In early November, I wrote of the proposed 30 ballpark 30 day tour I would take in 2012 and the added unique aspect of who I am as a blind fan.

Before I go into the latest details, I did want tips from someone n contacting a publisher, because I did want to write a book as well.  Mine would focus on the travel experience, the accessibility to things in and outside the park, and the experience using local public transit or the lack thereof in some instances.  Any tips are much…

Tokyo!

Bought a ticket yesterday for the March 28th game at the Tokyo Dome between the A's and the Mariners.  Using frequent flier mileage for the flight from Newark, NJ, and only staying over one night in Tokyo, so the cost should be manageable.  I've been to Tokyo before, courtesy of Uncle Sam, so am not concerned with sightseeing this time around.  This ought to be a very unusual experience, and I'll be sure to post some highlights after my return.

Fan Ticket Exchange - Without Huge Stubhub Prices

I don't mind paying a little extra for something that is in demand, but sometimes it just isn't worth it. I am trying to plan a June trip to Chicago/Milwaukee and I have already had alot of help on the Facebook group's page, but tickets are still a problem. I am taking my wife to Chicago for her birthday and scheduled it before I knew the games would be Cubs/Red Sox and White Sox/Cubs. (Brewers/Blue Jays is no big deal) I am already making the trip and I will get tickets somehow, but I can't…

need a little help in Denver

Hey everyone, trying to put together a trip for my birthday weekend to Denver for when the Mariners are playing the Rockies the Saturday of May 19th.  I'm looking for 3 tickets preferably behind the Mariners dugout within the first couple rows.  I know 3 is an odd number to try and get but I was hoping someone out there might have some good season tickets and could help a Mariners fan have a great birthday weekend.  Thank you in advance to anyone that tries to help me out!

Thank You!

Thanks for all the #HireDoug support from my Seattle Mariners campaign. It didn't work out, but thanks anyway! If anything it was a great chance to really get back into blogging and interacting more online which has been fun. I revised my website and added a new blog on the MLB Fan Cave changes (which blow, ha-ha) Check it out!…
