BASEBALL SUPERSTITIONS....NOT MENTIONING A NO-HITTER WHILE IN PROGRESS

I'm sure many of you know that baseball has many superstitions.  One of those superstitions we are all aware of is that when a no-hitter is in progress players are not to mention it.  But as a fan, do you believe in this theory while viewing in the stands or at home ?

Last season, I saw Vicente Padilla twice go past the 5th inning before finally allowing that first hit.  Back in July against the Cubs, the fan next to me had the audacity to actually mention it and everyone in…

Baseball Fan's Dream Job

Get out your resume, as I am sure every Ballpark Chaser would kill for a chance to work with Major League Baseball for a full season. I am not sure what they pay, but you get to watch "every single game" during the season so how can you complain with that job requirement! Check out the details here.

Polo Grounds Remains

I ran my own blog to supplement SP for a while, but it felt like work so I stopped.  This was one of my favorite posts.  While taking pictures of old Yankee Stadium's demolition in February 2010, my brother and I ventured across the Macombs Dam bridge to check out the remains of the Polo Grounds:

The Polo Grounds was the home of the New York Giants from 1890-1957.  Additionally,…

Ranking

I've only been to 24 of the current ballparks, but I have also been to five other parks no longer in service.  Here's an attempt to rank them.  The top 3 are the best, ranks 4-20 are relatively  interchangeable. 21-24 are rather dreadful.

Current:

1 - PNC Park - If there's a perfect park, this is it

2 - Oriole Park at Camden Yards - CLASSIC. Seems like it has been there for 50 years, but still new

3 - AT&T Park - Incredible setting

4 - Fenway Park - the…

FAVORITE STADIUM TO CHEER YOUR TEAM.....AS A VISITING FAN

I'm sure one of the things you've done in your baseball travels is followed your favorite team on the road.  If you told me that you'd never been razzed on the road for cheering for your team, i'd say you're lying.  Being razzed can be fun so long as it's kept in good taste ( Some fans do tend to have their own definition of taste ).  As a Dodgers fan I've had the chance to follow my team in the following places

Turner Field

Minute Maid Park

Old Busch…

Secret Stadium Sauce at Miller Park

Wisconsin is brat country, something I learned too late after my first trip to Miller Park.

While I liked Miller, I was a little bit miffed at the low quality of the hot dog. I believe at the time I declared it to be the worst dog I’d ever had at a ballgame, and I liked Wendy Selig less afterward for it. (This was in 2001 when she still owned the Brewers.) As far as I was concerned, there was no excuse for a ballpark in Wisconsin to have a lousy hot dog.

It…

Citizens Bank Park – A Must Visit For Any Baseball Fan

I live in South Jersey, which is unequivocally Philadelphia sports country. Nobody around here is a Giants or Rangers or Knicks fan, and the occasional Devils fan you find is not very vocal about it. People here bleed Eagles green, Flyers orange and Phillies red, and no one cares too much about the 76ers.

I don’t live and die with the Flyers’ fortunes and care much less about the Eagles, but I must admit that the new, revitalized sports complex in Philadelphia is quite the…
