It was about a year ago when I found ballparkchasers.com. I was sitting in Afghanistan and I had decided that I wanted to not just talk about a dream but be able to come home to the United States and fullfill one. I did a simple google search and found this community. It has simply been the most important connection of my entire trip. Tonight was the most fullfilling experience I've had thus far.
I attended a game at Safeco Field in Seattle. Through this website I met…

So here I am pushing 70, and I finally found something my teen-aged son actually wants to do with me--chase ball parks. We did our two local parks (SF Bay Area) when he was younger, then started doing trips. 2010 was San Diego-Anaheim-LA, then 2011 was SF to Chicago White Sox to Dallas to St. Louis to Philadelphia to Washington to Atlanta to Tampa Bay to Miami back to SF, 8 parks in 12 days. This year we're just now buying tickets, but it looks like SF to Denver to Milwaukee to Baltimore to…

I've been thinking about chasing ballparks around the world lately. My reasoning behind this is we'll be moving out of the country in Summer 2013 and I still want to see baseball at least somewhere. Check out today's Wall Street Journal front page piece on DC Nationals restricting ticket sales to DC, Md and Va zips only. Team COO wants an all National fanbase in the ballpark. The funny thing is, the crowd is typically all decked out in red, so you can't tell if its Natl or Philly fans. And the Nats' CFO can't distinguish Nats vs Philly greenbacks in the coffers. Oh! And by the way, Philly Sports Fans are probably the best travelling fan base in the country. Too many work arounds for…
