Estadio Teodoro Mariscal is pretty fancy for its age (built in 62) and the kind of things that would be a problem under other sets of regulations simply aren't problems in Mexico.
You don’t have to get out of your seat to get beer, food, noise-makers… Toilet break and 7th innings stretch are the only time you need to get up and for those brief moments, the narrow concourses and lack of signage don’t really matter. I was a lot more uncomfortable at Wrigley Field.
This was my…

My son and I have been gone off the boards for awhile. Fortunately and unfortunately we had to move from the East Coast to the West Coast. Fortunately while doing so we were able to chase for 6 weeks to about 25 different minor league parks. This included International League teams all the way down to Rookie Leagues and some Independent League games as well. Which brings me to my question to the site.
Has anybody gone down to Venezuela for baseball? Specifically Venezuelan Summer…

This past summer my wife (Mrs. Yankee) and I made a trip across the country to see Safeco Field. I was extremely impressed with the ballpark, surrounding neighborhood and the wonderful weather in Seattle in August. I haven't been to every stadium yet but it is certainly in my top 5. The food was what most impressed me about the park. It had an amazing selection. On the way out to Seattle we hit up Target Field, Progressive and Wrigley, all favorites we visited for the 2nd or 3rd times.…

World Series Game One:
-Boston, Fenway Park
Jon Lester vs Adam Wainwright
-Lester has very limited experience against Cardinals. In one career he allowed two earned runs on nine hits. Lester did not factor into the decision, he did strikeout three and issued one walk. Lester 2-1 this postseason with an ERA of 2.33, he has struck out 14 while walking seven in 19.1 innings of work. Lester finished the regular season with a 15-7 record and a 3.75 ERA. He struck out 177…

It's always been one of my top life goals to see my team, the St. Louis Cardinals, win a championship live and in person. A World Series Championship would be the ultimate, but I always said I'd be just as happy to see a Division Championship or the National League Pennant clincher. There is something about seeing a truly historical moment for your team in person that seemed like the ultimate in sports fandom to me.
I've been close before. Last season, I was at Game 5 of the NLCS with…

Hi everyone, I just released my first book and it’s all about Ballpark Chasing, though I didn’t use that term since I came across this site way too late (and it’s not my term anyway!). Literally years in the making, Rally Caps, Rain Delays and Racing Sausages is a chronicle of my trips to all the major-league baseball stadiums over several years and offers a look at baseball teams’ relationships with their fans.
I count 34 major–league parks that I have been to, though I have not been…

Traveled to Houston yesterday to see the Yankees and Astros play their final game of the season. As usual used airline miles to make the trip in one day to avoid the hassles of baggage and overnight stays. Left Newark at 5:20 AM, was in Houston before 8, rented a car, and spent the morning visiting geographic highpoints (another hobby) in the area, Houston's highest natural elevation being an oxygen-deprived 280+ feet!
The game itself was 14 innings of mostly bad baseball between two…

On Sunday 9/22/2013 my friend and I made a little road trip to visit Angels Stadium for the Mariners vs Angels game.
It turned out to be a very long day (leaving at 1:30 AM and coming home at 2:30 AM) but it was fun.
For being the 4th oldest ball park around, I have to give kudos to them, I feel the stadium is just beautiful.
Unfortunately the Angels lost that day, but it was a good time.…

Well my friends and I just made the down and back trip to see the Reds vs Pirates play. It's our goal to try to see one park per season with the Pirates being the away team. So far, so good. We were pleased to see numerous Pirates fans in attendance at GABP. The Reds fans were friendly to us, including several that welcomed us to their city. Being that I have been to PNC Park countless times, since I'm from Pittsburgh, GABP seemed to have a lot of similarity to PNC with the views of the…

Like the rest of you, I am a baseball junkie. I've was blessed with the 'diamond gene' and have spent over 35 years savoring every morsel of the game. After a career in the publishing business as a cartographer and graphic designer, I recently decided to create a bold project around my passion for the game.
The roots of the THIRTY81 Project go back several years, but it wasn't until this last spring — as the wave of stadium construction subsided and the recent realignment balanced…
