Pohlman Field in Beloit, Wisconsin, probably ranks near the bottom of the Midwest League ballparks. The team itself will gladly tell you that they want and need a new stadium. But there's no place in the league that offers fans access to the players as it is in Beloit. You can check out my complete review of Pohlman Field, as well as my visit to the Midwest…

Without a doubt, one of the best Lost Ballpark sites is that of League Park IV in Cleveland. Worth a stop if you find yourself in the neighborhood for a game at Progressive Field.

"America's Oldest Baseball Park." It is a *MUST* for any Ballpark Chaser. Of the 30+ minor league ballparks I've been to, it is either #1, or #2. A fantastic place to watch baseball, unlike anything else, and home to pro baseball on just one day each year.

I knew I would need to visit Eastlake, Ohio, home of the Lake County Captains as part of "Ballparks of the Midwest," my minor league ballpark project for work. So of course I scheduled it so that I could shoot a story at Progressive Field and check out an Indians game. My second visit to Progressive Field.…

Part 3 for 2010, and Number 11 overall, for my work project visiting all of the ballparks in the Class A Midwest League. Easily the best view in the Midwest League, Modern Woodmen Park along the Mississippi River in Davenport, Iowa.

This is part two for 2010 of my visits around the Midwest League (for work!). Time Warner Cable Field at Fox Cities Stadium in Grand Chute, Wisconsin (suburban Appleton) is the home of the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, a Milwaukee Brewers affiliate. It was a bit chilly there back in May when I visited. You can check out a text review, photos, and video reviews of…

If you ever have a chance to go to Birmingham, Alabama, for the Rickwood Classic at "America's Oldest Baseball Park," don't pass it up, it is well worth the trip!!!
The 12 hour drive back to Iowa seemed like nothing last week after watching the Smokies and Barons battle to extra innings in 15th Classic, marking 100 years for the ballpark.…

The last of my ballpark visits for work this year, Fifth Third Ballpark in Comstock Park, Michigan, home of the West Michigan Whitecaps (MWL affiliate of the Detroit Tigers). This year all of the attention at this ballpark has been on the 5,000 calorie Fifth Third Burger. You can check out my coverage of this ballpark…

Oldsmobile Park in Lansing, Michigan is stop number seven on my tour for work this year. The ballpark is located in downtown Lansing, just a few blocks from the state capitol. The fountains and statues outside the park are very nice. The corners are short and include higher fences in those areas which is a little bit unique.…

Want to see a great minor league ballpark? Go to the one in Midland, Michigan - Dow Diamond - Home of the Great Lakes Loons. Opened in 2007 when the franchise moved to town the park has fire pits in the outfield to keep people warm, 168 solar panels that produce enough energy to power the scoreboard for a year, and much more. Check out my full report on the…

I just returned from a ballpark vacation that included Nationals Park (Park #30 for me, although I still need 6 of the active MLB parks), Fifth Third Field in Toledo, and Wrigley Field.
I've written up a few thoughts on those parks at the link below, plus I am launching a new project for work next week where I get to go to ballparks!
