Hey friends,
If you've never watched the Caribbean Series, do yourself a favor and check it out. I became a fan in 2005 and watch it religiously on TV every year. It's broadcasted on the MLB Network in English or on ESPN Deportes in Spanish. The passion and level of play is pretty unreal. It first began in 1949 and is played with the winners of each Winter League in Mexico, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and Venezuela. You even get MLB players in the mix. This year it's in…

Here is the answer to a future Marlins trivia question. Josh Johnson threw out the ceremonial first pitch last week on the grounds of the Marlins new ballpark site. I guess we know who their franchise player is...receiving $39 million dollars just moments before.
Check out the full story and pictures.…

I don't know how many people do this. I used to have photos from every major league ballpark I'd been to (unfortunately I don't have any from Baltimore's old Memorial Stadium...sniff) on display on my cube at work. Talk about a conversation piece...I've had people be just in awe of that. "***in' awesome", one co-worker told me.
I've since arranged them on posterboards and then frame them, with the ticket stub from each game under the ballpark. I have three framed posters, one for…

Argh! I've been looking for this baseball for close to 7 years, and this is literally the first one I have ever seen on eBay. The only reason I knew it even existed was because the Opening Day ball for the NL just had the red stitching and year so I asked a ball dealer about it. (Who also has not seen one in a long time.) I started with my All Star ball, and an Opening Day 2002, then I just picked them up each year if I was at the actual event. I only buy balls for an event I'm at -- Opening…

Hey,
I'm going to Coors Field in May to catch the Dodgers in the three game series against the Rockies. Can anyone suggest things to do/see in and around the stadium? Any good bars or restaurants or other points of interest to possibly see?

Living in So. California, we are just a hop, skip, and a 6 hour drive to the greater Phoenix area. This is where my wife and I will begin our 2010 season with two Cactus League games. In May we are going to take advantage of the holiday weekend and fly up to Seattle to see a new ballpark for me. Later in the summer, haven't nailed down the dates yet, we will try to get a weekend trip to Denver to see Coor's Field. Also, I am going to sprinkle in a couple of Angels and Dodgers home games like I…

On my never ending quest to visit ballparks and stadiums I found that all of the memories of the experience quikly faded. I will update my journies for all to see and will also be recording them in the new product I have introduced the Ticket Journal.
www.ticketjournal.com Let me know if you have any questions but I look forward to the journey and sharing stores. Regards, Tim

Seeing Tim's post about his Ticket Journal website had me wondering. How many of you keep a journal or diary while you're on the road?
A few years back I decided to start keeping a journal on my baseball road trips. I bought a few 4x6"-ish leather backs at Target. I remembered always writing in one when we went camping as a family when I was younger. At the time, it all seemed pretty tedious because the entries didn't have a lot of variety. Camping was still mostly camping wherever…

I love spring training!! I have done grapefruit league games... but I've never been to the cactus league, and I'm planning to head down there this spring!
I'm trying to plan my trip. I don't have any favorite teams down there, so it doesn't really matter who I see. Does anyone have any favorite parks down there?? Maybe the new Dodger, Indians, or Reds?? Any recommendations on good places to stay? Or good golf courses to go to??
Thanks! Katie

My site, Stadium Journey, has just published its list ranking the ballparks of MLB for 2009. Take a look when you have a chance. What park is too low, or too high?

I am simply amazed by what this guy has done. To see every possible baseball match up, home and away is just unreal! Congratulations to John Salvo and his accomplishments. I wish he was on this site to share his stories. See link below...

Been meaning to post this for a while. I got an email from Chuck that said he wanted to make a few changes to the schedule cause he hates having a day of vacation where he doesn't get to see a game/ball park and I fully agree! So below is our new schedule and a few stats about it...
June 22 – Drive from Lacey to Denver
June 23 – Red Sox vs Rockies @ Coors
June 24 – Red Sox vs Rockies @ Coors
June 25 – Cardinals vs Royals @ Kauffman
June 26 – Cubs vs White Sox @ US…

Family's 30 MLB Ballpark tour benefits the Women’s Sports Foundation's GoGirlGo! Program
Roberto Coquis and Judy Pino visited all 30 MLB ballparks this summer with 8-month old baby, Sofia Coquis, in tow. They dubbed their tour "30 Ballparks and a Baby" and created a website documenting their experiences. During the tour they collected baseball memorabilia from MLB teams and supporters to be auctioned off for charity and have partnered with the Women's Sports Foundation's…

The Big A, a sea of red, rally monkey dolls, thundersticks, a monument to Nick Adenhart, bad umpiring calls, footlong italian sausages, Sabathia's strong 8 innings on 3 days rest, and more. We went to last night's ALCS game and it totally rocked! There were so many of us NY fans throughout the stadium, cheering on Jeter and the boys. The best was seeing most of the depressed Anaheim fans with their annoying thundersticks leave in the 7th inning when the score was 5-1. No rally monkey sightings…

Doesnt mean that I agree with how the economics of baseball are way out of whack. I was talking with a few other Canadians about the MLB and thought of a radical new change in division re-alignment that may finally end the disparity between all ball clubs having a chance to make the playoffs each year. Much like soccer it would kind of be a tier system. Scheduling and travel wise it makes a lot more sense. For those hardcore fans I would also make each team play at least 2 games against every…

I decided to forego the doubleheaders scenario for now to concentrate on the streaks. I will also save the pre-streak writing for the actual novel itself.. Let us get right to the streak chasing because it has the juiciest content by far....
STREAK ATTEMPT 1
DAY 1
GAMES 1 AND 2
WED JULY.02/2008
MINNESOTA 12:00 PM/CHICAGO WHITE SOX 7:11 PM
METRODOME/US CELLULAR FIELD
The key to making the doubleheader was to have a quick game between Minnesota and…
