Hello all !!! It has been a long time since I have posted about anything here. I hope you've all had a good new year. I certainly can't wait for the baseball season to start. And we all know that the official countdown to spring training starts immediatly after the Super Bowl. As for the Super Bowl, it can't end soon enough for me especially with my 49ERS narrowly missing it this year.
Anyways, I hope you fellow ballpark travelers have your plans set for this summer. If not, well, you still got time. So where are you planning to go this year ? Me, I'll be fortunate if I can leave the state of California . Like some of you, funds have been limited so the Journey to 30 has been put on hold temporarily.
Speaking of Journey to 30, i'm sure one of the things many of you like to do is sample some of the vast ballpark food selections out there. While ballpark cuisine has become abundant and even upscale, we all can probably agree that the number 1 food staple at any sporting event especially baseball is the hot dog. Recently a friend of mine asked me where i've had the best hot dog. Being a Dodger fan, of course I was gonna say the Dodger Dog. That classic 12 inch weiner has been a Top Dog at Dodger games for quite some time. However, I like to go with the Super Dog. The Super Dog is bigger and more beefier than the regular Dodger Dog.
Now as for the best Dog i've had, it's really a hard call for me. The Texas Dog in Houston was pretty good, stuffed with a huge portion of chili and cheese . I've also had some good hot dog's in Oakland as well, so again, it's really a hard call for me.
Now as for the worst dog ?
Comment
Best Dog, just a plain dog, was the free ones I got at O.co last year. Nice, subtle and really full of good juicy flavor. As for other dogs, specialty dogs, I gotta go with the Chicago Dog at the Metrodome (yes, I know it's not being used any more, but just saying...) or the Chili Half Smoke from Ben's Chili Bowl @ Nats Park, no question.
Worst? This one is not hard to decide on at all... the Dodger Dog, no questions asked, the most vile thing I have ever ate at a ballpark (fwiw, I did try one on 3 different occasions to make sure I didnt get a bad one or something.. NASTY!)
Skyline chili cheese coneys at Great American Ballpark were surprisingly good.
I was disappointed in the Dodger dog, though maybe all the hype had me expecting too much.
Best ballpark dog - The Ben's Chili Half Smoke at Nationals Park, hands down.
The worst dog I have ever had at a ballgame was in Miller Park in Milwaukee of all places. I couldn't understand that, but I think it may have been to sell sausages. Since then the dogs have greatly improved, I will say.
The official countdown to spring training begins the day after the World Series ends!
