Ballpark Giveaways

All of us who are chasing after the "final ballpark" have a stash of giveaway items or things we caught at the games. Combined my son and I have about 10 footlockers full of stuff (which I'll probably giveaway at some point). I'd like to see a list of your favorite items you've received from games and your least favorite. You can even add items you got at other sports stadiums as well.

Favorite Item:
A game day football my son received: Ford Field, Detroit Lions.

Least Favorite:
Any foam anything (do they all last about 10 seconds).

We've probably all missed good giveaways as well. List those as well if you would like.

While you mentioned it about chasing just for the giveaway item. My son and I went to a Bowie Baysox game because they were giving away Josh Gibson Bobbleheads away. Pretty cool with the Homstead Grays emblem and everything. A highlight was winning a bid for one of the replica jerseys the players were wearing that night.

Comment by Jim Wood (46 MLB) on September 26, 2012 at 5:11pm: Favorite Item: 2005 World Series Championship replica ring for the fans. On top of that being a great giveaway it meant a lot as a White Sox fan to finally be known as World Champions.

Least Favorite: Nothing specific but anything made of paper/foam/cheap material doesn't stay long.

I also think hat giveaways are great. Lately replica jerseys are making a comeback which is nice, and for kids bat day and helmet day is fun.

Comment by Mark (53) on September 26, 2012 at 4:36pm: favorite item would probably be the team photo I got this year at the Syracuse Chiefs game, because they had about twenty players on the concourse signing autographs, as well as the manager. I also like the Memphis Chicks cap I got at my first game at Tim McCarver Stadium in Memphis.

least favorite: none - I like getting free stuff, whatever it is :-)

On a side note, has anyone gone to a game because of the giveaway/ promotion? I have gone to several Memphis Redbirds games because they were giving away either T-shirts or bobble heads. I have also gone to see the San Diego Chicken and the Zooper Stars. Also traveled to Pittsburgh to get a team card set they were giving away on Mother's Day. Got to take my mom to a game and see the Pirate fans boo Barry Bonds as a Giant.
