OK, this may be for some of us staunch baseball fans here, but as far back as when I was a kid, I remember keeping score and as the years would go by I would become somewhat of an expert, heck I would even compare my style of keeping score with other fans around me. But as the years would go by, I would also notice that keeping score was a dying art . How many of you out there still keep score at a ballpark today ? Oh yeah, personally, I find keeping score in a National League park more fun than in an American League Park, simply because of the lack of the DH. Yes, the lack of the DH really does make keeping score that much more interesting, especially after the 7th inning of a tight game, because as a scorekeeper, I try to think along the lines of the managers as well in terms of who will hit for who, 2 for 1's, and of course what bench players are left if the game goes extras, amongst other strategical thinking. Of course, growing up a Dodgers fan and going to Dodger games all those years certainly has had a huge influence in my feelings about keeping score in an NL park over an AL park. And of course you can all figure out by now how I feel about the DH.
And now Drei's end of the week music pic, Song 2, aka, the woo-hoo song, also former Dodger Shawn Green's walkup song. It was cool hearing 50,000 plus fans screaming woo-hoo when he would come up. Oh yeah, one more thought, if you were a MLB player today, what would you like to hear as your walk-up song ? This should be a fun topic. Have a good weekend everyone....
Not much on keeping score during the game, but if I was to choose a song, it would be either AC/DC Back in Black or Ted Nugent Stranglehold. Let me ask you a question, what would be your uniform number? Mine would be 18.
