I'm a little bummed as I had hoped to get to Washington today to meet up with Bob but I just couldn't get it all worked out afterall. I have so much that has to be done for a deadline and just can't get away. But my heart is there today. (2 1/2 hours 'til game time and I'm tempted to get in the car and go anyway! I'd just look for a Cubs jersey and probably find him. I'm sure it won't be that crowded as there is rain forecast.) For Bob's sake, let's hope the game is played today. Sorry I'm missing out on meeting you Bob! I had been talking to friends about Ballparkchasers.com and this trip for weeks. I'm looking forward to Bob's blog about his big weekend and the status of his fundraising.
Anyone else planning to be in the Philly/Baltimore/Washington area this year? I hope to do 2 more new parks this year, Citifield on Sat Aug 14th and Pittsburgh on Sat or Sun August 22 or 23. Anyone going to be at those games?
I'm posting the picture of the Ballpark Stadium Certificate I was telling you about. I had this made after the 2002 season. I added 4 more parks in 2003. (Olympic Stadium, Skydome, Comerica Park and Great American Ballpark) I've been to Citizens Bank Park also. I think it was in 2005. I haven't been to a new stadium since. Don't kick me off the website! I promise to do better! But that brings my total to 24 parks.
Again, I don't know how you count officially since there are so many retired parks. Can I say I've been to all 30 if I've seen a home game for every team? Phillies and Baltimore would be on there twice since I saw both stadiums. So does that mean my count is really 22 and not 24?
Well, I'm going to post this picture and get back to work. I hope to get my ballpark pictures up soon. I'll have to scan them at Walmart as our scanner isn't working.
I enjoy reading your blogs. Thank you for the responses to mine.
Hope to update soon.
