I'm visiting the 8 teams in the Midwest League that I didn't visit last year for my work project, "Ballparks of the Midwest." Season 2, Part 1, is Community Field in Burlington.

I just travel myself. Just took the bus to Burlington for that story because I thought it'd give fans a look at that "glamorous" life in the minors. The teams are usually very, very easy to work with for whatever access I've asked for. I've really only had one thing rejected, and that was one team (not Burlington, nor the home team, CR) that denied my request to shoot some video inside their box office as they sold tickets. Not sure what that was about. Everything else has allowed easy and great access, which is something that's made the stories better.

Am curious as to how you are travelling. Is it with the team or are you driving yourself? Was it hard to convince the team to give you access to the lockeroom and team bus? Are you a one man band or just a photog?

I sometimes miss the competition of the quarterly contests and the great photogs I worked with, but I wouldn't go back now.....not enough money and too much foolishness. Again, really nice work.

Thanks for the kind words. I've been working in the business for about 7 years and got introduced to the NPPA early which I believe has signficantly helped my storytelling skills! I still can't believe I convinced the bosses that I needed to tell 16 ballpark stories over two years:) I visited the Lake County Captains tonight for the project, also took in Blue Jays/Indians today in Cleveland.

Really nice work. Great nat sound. I was a news photog for five years and had lost hope that tv stations still did quality work and interesting stories. Thanks for restoring my faith.
