Minor League Ballparks I've been to

I have lived in Jacksonville, Florida since December of 1980.

I had never been to a minor league ball park except for a 1978 Detroit Tigers Spring Training game in Lakeland, Florida, home of Joker Marchant Stadium.

The Lakeland Flying Tigers are the current home team, and the Lower Single "A" affiliate of the Tigers.

I went to my first minor league game in 1981, in downtown Jacksonville, to old Wolfson Park, where the Jacksonville Suns played their games then. The stadium is now gone, but that old park played host to many a big league Hall of Fame player to be, including Hank Aaron, Hoyt Wilhelm, Nolan Ryan, and Tom Seaver. The team is currently playing in one of the finest minor league ball parks ever built, The Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville.

Here's a list of the minor league ball parks I've visited.

Joker Marchant Stadium, Lakeland Flying Tigers(Detroit Tigers Spring Training)
Wolfson Park, Jacksonville Suns
The Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville, Jacksonville Suns(Florida Marlins AA)
The Diamond, Richmond Braves then, now the Richmond Flying Squirrels(SF Giants AA)
McCoy Stadium, Pawtucket Red Sox(Boston Red Sox AAA)
Al Land Field(now Progressive Energy Park), St. Petersburg, Florida(Spring Training game)
Tinker Field, Orlando Twins
Holman Stadium, Vero Beach, Dodgertown, Vero Beach Rays
Boardwalk and Baseball, Haines City, Florida, KC Royals(extinct)

I hope to visit many more in the future, including the Nationals spring home at Viera, Florida, and the Orioles AA club, the Bowie Baysox, in Bowie, Maryland.
