When I made my plans to go to Nats Park, I had very little in terms of my expectations. The team is lousy at best most of the time, the stadium is in a run down area of town and to be honest, I was going to see two last place teams (Orioles) "battle it out"
Well let me say this...Nats Park was probably my favorite stadium in the past few years. The place was exceedingly clean, well taken care of and the sound and public address announcer was amazing.
The game was a 12 inning affair of hard faught baseball, with the visiting team pulling out 2 runs in the 12th frame.
I was fortunate to have tickets in the Diamond Club area of the stadium, with the purchase of my ticket I had 35.00 food credit, we chose to eat in the PNC Diamond Club, choosing the "Chefs Table" (a upscale buffet). We had bratwurst, dogs, potato salad, loin of pork, oven baked fried chicken, ribs, pastas, paella, assorted fruits and cheeses - gorgonzolla, stilton, brie, goat cheese...an antipasto station - olives, dried meats, sun roasted tomatos, artichokes.....I think you get the picture...it was amazing....that plus a drink still left me 5.10 cents on my 35 credit......wow!!
my seats were about 40 feet from home plate and while not the roomiest in that lower section that I have experience (so far Citi Field is the best in terms of the sixe of the lower seating) they were comfy and I lasted through the entire game without having to get up and move around to keep limber.
The between inning attractions, highlighted by the 4th inning GEICO Presidents Race were great....The Presidents Ran and this time George won, Abe is in the lead for the season and Tom Jefferson was 3rd, Teddy Roosevelt has yet to win yet....lol
I will be posting pics tomorrow, but I just wanted to report my great time at Nats Park yesterday!!!
