On July 5, 6, and 7th 2013 two of my boys, my brother and a grandson went on our annual baseball weekend trip. We started in Toronto at the Rogers Centre and saw the Jays beat the Twins 4 to 0.
We travelled to Cleveland on Saturday and watched Detroit defeat the Indians 9 t0 4. While in Cleveland we stopped by the old League Park. Anyone going to Cleveland should look this up. There is a lot of history at this old park. The ticket office still stands and the right field wall, the rest has been demolished but is undergoing a restoration. Although little remains of the original park you can picture Cy Young pitching on the opening day of the park and the "Babe" hitting his 500 home run there.
On the Sunday we stopped in at Buffalo and watch the Bisons (Jays AAA affiliate) play a double hitter beating Syracuse in both games. A beautiful stadium with most players being very hospitable and signing autographs. The price is right, the the play is excellent and I wished I lived nearer. A must see team and stadium.

If they do sign, it's usually not ledgible, oh well. I take a minor league roadtrip every year, the games are more intimate and needless to say, more affordable.
Thanks for the tip on Erie PA. Enjoy these minor league teams. Players are more accommodating in signing autographs and give it all. Unfortunately, players sent down from MLB appear to have developed that MLB mentality and are not to hospitable. For instance Ricky Romero stayed in the dug out and didn't come unto the field and others wouldn't sign. Ego, Ego, Ego.
A gree, Buffalo is really a cool place to catch a minor league game, went there for the AAA all-star game last year. If you travel to Cleveland again, try to catch a minor league game in Erie PA. Ult Park is a cool inter-city stadium with alot of personalty.
You also mentioned League Park, hopefully the city can get their act together and restore the facilty. Alot of history like you mentioned, Dimaggio's 56th hit during the streak.
Thanks for the memories....
