Just stumbled upon this youtube video of old Riverfront stadium. I can't believe they could do this with Great American so close by!

Wow, that is a cool video. I wish I was in Seattle at the time to see it in person! Save me a brick if you go back!! :)

That's an impressive video. It comes doen much quicker that way. I live about a little over an hour from Shea and what started out as a one time visit with my son has become a weekly trip (until it's complete). There are two reasons that I heard why that didn't implode the stadium. First, New York City prohibits implosions. Even if they didn't, Shea is built in FLushing Meadows and with the softness of the land and its close proximity to Citi Field, an implosion would likely damage the new stadium.

Amazing photos! Do you live close by? I wonder why they didn't bring it down using explosives like they did for the kingdome?

Thanks to a very friendly worker, I've got a couple of bricks and a piece of metal (maybe I can make a cap rack out of it). ;)

Great photo album, Roger. Thanks for sharing that with us. Did you take anything as a souvenir? :)
