The Strasburger - for you Ballpark Foodie Types

Big news, had a Strasburger last night at Nats Park!  I was at the game with a group of friends, six of us, at one of the tables at the Red Porch, back around where we were facing the center field entrance.  Seemed like the right time and place to order a Strasburger, (he was pitching and it was his 24th birthday) which turned out to be quite good - this is an eight pound cheeseburger, about the size of a layer cake, and we cut it up into six pieces, so everyone got a slice sized about as much as a regular burger.  Comes with cheese, pickles, onions, tomato, lettuce, and a Russian dressing-type sauce, also a monster quantity of french fries, so comparable portions to what you would get if you ordered individual sandwiches.

What was the most interesting was that when the Strasburger came, lots of people came over to see it, and to take pictures - other diners, people walking by, and even some staff ushers/supervisors types who said that they had never seen one before.  We had about a five minute delay before eating, so that all the admiring and photography could take place.

Overall I do recommend this - the burger and bun were good, on top of the appearance being memorable.

it costs about $60, includes a huge side order of fries, pretty comparable to the fancy burger and fries that would be ordered separately for $10 X 6. My husband thinks it is the best sandwich that we have had at the Red Porch, was actually quite good for a burger.

Yay! It worked!! See the people in the background taking pictures of it on their cellphones? The plate underneath is a small-medium pizza size.

Yes, it should! The gobbledygook is just the HTML code. Just try it and you can always delete it later if it doesn't work.

I tried pasting it in but all that showed was a bunch of gobbledygook. Would the picture actually appear if I then hit the add comment button?

Hey Mary- you can actually post it in the comment field or edit your original blog and insert it there. Look for the little photo icon/button (it's to the right of the "LINK" button).

Yes, I did get a picture, but I don't seem to have any idea of how to post it. If I can figure that out I will get it up on the site.
