Bought a ticket yesterday for the March 28th game at the Tokyo Dome between the A's and the Mariners. Using frequent flier mileage for the flight from Newark, NJ, and only staying over one night in Tokyo, so the cost should be manageable. I've been to Tokyo before, courtesy of Uncle Sam, so am not concerned with sightseeing this time around. This ought to be a very unusual experience, and I'll be sure to post some highlights after my return.

I will be attending the game on the 28th, so it looks like we'll miss each other. Glad you got the tiks. I e-mailed the A's and was told that MLB would be handling ticket sales. I e-mailed MLB twice and they never bothered to respond. On the day I was going to call and complain, the e-mail from the A's showed up, announcing they would be selling tickets a few days hence. The whole thing could have been handled much better, but at least we all got our tickets eventually. Nice to know that rain will not be an issue, thanks to the dome. All we have to worry about are earthquakes and typhoons...
Got 'em! Thank you so much, Michael! Shortly after they announced the games in Tokyo we were looking for information on when/where we would be able to purchase tickets. My husband emailed Athletics ticketing knowing it would be considered an A's home game and the representative that responded said they would not be facilitating the ticket sales because of the location. Maybe it was too early for them to have that information but even searching the website we could not turn up ticket sales for theses games. I stumbled upon your post at just the right time. My husband and his friend are traveling to Japan and attending a game. I just purchased the tickets for the 29th. Which game will you be attending?
In response to Patricia's comment: I subscribed to the A's ticket e-mail notifications as soon as I heard about the games in Tokyo, since they are officially A's "home" games. A few days ago they sent me an e-mail with a link to their website to buy tickets. I checked the link this morning, and it looks like tickets are still for sale. Here's the link:

I don't know if that link is tied only to my name, or what, but it still worked as of ten minutes ago. Give it a try, and if you run into problems, call the A's ticket office (find # on their website) as soon as they open today. The tickets are very pricey, but what the heck, you only go around once!
I'm going to be in Section A11, Row 18, Seat 285, so if you do go, come look for me!
Good luck, Michael
