For the first time in my life, I do something crazy like this.
I will fly to San Francisco to support team Netherlands. Probably it will be only for one game, but I bought tickets for the semi final of March 18 and the final.
I am so freaking excited.

Funny that you say that Jon. This time I rooted against Robinson Cano. Something I would never do normally.
Totally agree. Would much rather watch a WBC game than a single All-Star Game. More players can get to play.
I mentioned it over in the forum discussion about the WBC, but it was fun to get to cheer FOR players on Team USA in Marlins Park that I normally wouldn't get to cheer for, like David Wright or Jimmy Rollins.
I agree with you Michael Dominguez. Instead of the All Star Game which has no meaning at all (despite the clinching of the home advantage in the World Series), I rather see them play this tournament during two weeks around what is now the All Star Break. The players will be warmed up, so less risk for injuries.
It was so unreal to see the Dutch play at AT&T Park. It also gave me goose bumps to hear the Dutch National Anthem in this atmosphere.
I was at the Miami games, watching Dominican, Puerto Rico and the US play each other (3 games). The crowd was electric. Before the first pitch, my son was wondering why the crowd was going "so crazy". I told him that it will only pick up as the game went on. Having watched only North American games, he just couldn't believe it. But, I was right. Leading up to the late rally that brought the Dominicans the win over the US, the crowd was unlike anything I've ever witnessed.
I'd prefer more attention placed on the WBC and less on the regular season or All Star break. This is some of the best, most exciting, baseball ever assembled.
Awesome! I was pulling for them as well. Always been a fan of the underdog.
It was so great to experience this. I was approached by many Americans that saw me wearing my Dutch WBC hat and jersey. Most of them rooted for the Netherlands. It is an experience that I wouldn't want to miss.
They really do! Though the USA fans down at Marlins Park were into it just as much as the International fans were. I think it's more of a national pride thing than you get at regular MLB games.
I just got back from the first round in Phoenix. I got Drew Butera's home run ball in game 1. It's such a great experience. Other country's fans get so much more into in than the Americans.
