Jon Lester vs Adam Wainwright
-Lester has very limited experience against Cardinals. In one career he allowed two earned runs on nine hits. Lester did not factor into the decision, he did strikeout three and issued one walk. -Adam Wainwright has never faced Boston. He is 2-1 with 1.57 ERA this postseason. Wainwright has also struck out 20 batters and issued one walk in 23 innings this October. He finished the regular with a 19-9 record and a 2.94 ERA with 219 strikeouts compared to just 35 walks.
-Shane Victorino is 5-for-22 against Wainwright with a homer, three RBIs, pair strikeouts, one HBP and one GDP.
-Stephen Drew is 2-for-19 with a pair of walks, five strikeouts, a double and one GDP.
-David Ross is 2-for-12 with a homer, a double, three RBIs and four strikeouts.
-Jonny Gomes is 2-for-11 with a homer, a double, three RBIs and four strikeouts.
