What am I doing here?
I am but a mere consumer, just another ass in the seats and a tiny blip on the tv ratings radar. Didn't play ball past Bronco-level Pony League, never wrote about or broadcasted it journalistically. But my mom started to take my brother and I around the country to ballpark after ballpark starting when I was in high school. It was our summer, family vacation, family bonding time etc. That and she always rented the Ken Burns Baseball documentary volume by volume for us from the library, easily the most influential film on my life. Ever since than, I have spent my 20s continuing that quest to see the 30 MLB cathedrals. It has been my ticket to see as much of the world as I have without breaking the bank.I may have yet to see the Taj Mahal, Roman Colosseum, Great Wall of China or Eiffel Tower. But for now the Green Monster, Friendly Confines of Wrigley Field, House that Ruth Built, Roberto Clemente bridge, Busch Stadium, McCovey Cove etc. will do.
