Nationals Park Help

**Nats game was a success (except for the loss to the Yankees in 14 innings.) Thanks for all the help.

Hey all, I'm looking for some ticket suggestions. I'm traveling to Washington DC for my dad's retirement ceremony at the Pentagon in a few weeks. I figured I may as well try and hit a Nats game while I'm there and cross it off the list.

Unfortunately, the Yankees are also coming to town that weekend. Combine that with it being one of the few instances they've ever been in DC, and you have an over abundance of demand.

I'm looking to try and get my hands on 5 tickets for the Saturday June 16 afternoon game. Stubhub's listings are all over $75, but I'm hoping to find something for at least under $50 a pop. It doesn't matter to me where the seats are, but I prefer the 3rd base line because it gets shaded first.

If anyone has any suggestions as to where I can try and find these tickets, whether it be online or in DC itself, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I dont know what your schedule is like, but if you can I would look into going Friday or Sunday. The game you want will be hard enough to get, on top of wanting an odd number and that price. You can wait for prices to go down, or start looking on Craigslist or on Nats blogs. I believe Ben Fallon is our resident Nats guy on the site. Send him a message here or on the Facebook group. You have alot of options but have time too.

Thanks, Bill. Unfortunately Saturday is my only chance since my dad's retirement ceremony is Friday night and we have to get back to Dallas Sunday. I'd hate to be in town the same weekend the Nats are and not be able to go to a game.

You can get tickets for the Saturday game, but you may need to be a little more flexible with price and location. Have you considered sitting three and two instead of five together? You may find more luck that way. Keep an eye out for deals, but you can probably wait a week and see better deals.

I agree with trying to be more flexible for how many people sit together and for price. There are not any really bad seats in the stadium. It is tough due to it being the Yankees and with how many Yankee fans travel to see games. Enjoy it. If you get there early, head to the Red Porch for a great beer selection. The last time I was there, it was for almost 10 hours due to a 3.5 hour rain delay then a slow game, ending with a walk off Grand Slam.

"Tough ticket Yankees weekend. Games were sold out before they even open up sales to the general public. STH were allowed to by 4 additional tickets to the series at the STH price and then the team did a bunch of 5 game flex plans that forced you to by NYY + 4 dog games like HOU or AZ.

I sold my Friday night tickets for $50 a piece...face value was $10.

I also have tix for Sunday, I plan to use those.

The Nats do have tickets for sections 401-402 that are $5 and are only available on game day....you could camp out at the box office a couple hours before first pitch and see if you get lucky....otherwise Stubhub is your best bet.

Scalping around the park is not a good option, DC cops have been cracking down, saw them chasing guys off during the PHL series which was sold out 2 of 3 games.

If your family member is in the military, you might want to check with the MWR office, the Nats always make a block of tickets available for the military.

Might also suggest looking into a Nats party suite ticket, usually go on sale about 7 days out for sold out games....team opens the unsold luxury boxes at $100 a ticket, pricey, but, very nice.

Lastly, for tonight's sold out Braves game that included the Big & Rich show.....team released a block of Standing Room Only Tickets for $20. Follow the Nats on Twitter, that's were they announce the SRO option."

Wow, thanks a lot, Ben, for all that information.

Prices seem to be slowly coming down on StubHub, and my father-in-law who lives in Bethesda is seeing what he can find on his end. I have no doubt we'll get into the game, it's just a matter of seeing how much it'll cost.
